Italy Last quarter of the 18th century

Lombard neoclassical chest of drawers veneered in briar walnut with borders in bois de rose and violets, Italy, last quarter of the 18th century. On the front, the three drawers as well as the sides are framed by a relief frame, highlighted by the uprights where the pilasters have a third order of projection that outlines the architectural character of the piece of furniture. On the sides as on the frote, thanks to the flush drawers with retractable chain, we find reserves in walnut briar inlaid in boxwood and maple, with floral and phytomorphic motifs arranged circularly and vase elements. On the frames of the reserves are Greek inlaid with successive leaves and on the uprights motifs with sloping discs. Feet in a jar. Top in Bardiglio gray marble replaced, restorations. The piece of furniture presents in the taste of the inlay and in the arrangement of the same, different points of contact with the work of Mortarino both in the furniture attributed to him and in the certain ones; to this example the inlaid motifs on the uprights are reflected in the side borders of the two Mantuan dressers. Reggio Emilia, Late XVII Century

Walnut sideboard with front decorated in a band under the top with small architectural shelves, 3 drawers decorated with parallelepiped carvings and 2 doors underneath decorated with geometric carvings typical of the region. On the top there is an owl's beak frame.

Cupboard with Showcase

Small sideboard with two doors and two drawers surmounted by a showcase with side shelves supported by thin turned uprights. The panels of the doors like those of the sides of the riser contain floral ceramics, in the center of the door with glass there is a bas-relief ceramic panel with the allegory of painting, this is an indecipherable signature, on the back the "Goldchelder Wien" brand , referable to the well-known Viennese ceramics factory and engraved with the numbers "0764 / 16 / 30&". The wavy feet, the cymatium, like the rest of the piece of furniture, have small "whiplash"carvings and carved florals, defined by gilding and lacquering. Brass-coated frames, hardware, worked in floral style with partly gilded copper sheet flowers and fruits.

Wardrobe/Bookcase. Only example projected by Mario Vender for a private commission of a house in Brianza. It is made with drawers and open compartments, two coat hangers and two containers that can be opened to create a writing surface. Beech veneered wood, ash tree structure, beech pillars.

Japanned longcase

Tower clock lacquered with gilded chinoiserie and polychrome on a green lacquered background. The trunk stands on a large plinth and has a central door crowned on the top and frame by a rich moulding; iside is painted a landscapee with pagodas in a garden where we can meet huma figures in domestic scenes revived by beautiful volatiles, a rich triage enriches the lateral reserves; the tank containing the machanism also has a central crowned door with glass with a hat going up as a pagoda again decorated with landscapes and flowers, on the sides there are dence plant decorations. The 8 days movement relized by Thomas Phippard hits the hours on a bell; it has a brass quadrant with a silvered brass ring with roman numbers for hours and arabic numbers for minutes; there is also an elaborated brass center carved with leaves that contains the vise whit a small hand for seconds; the blued steel hands hare finely made. The fabrication name an the place onf making are engraved on a silver plate placed above the compartment where ther are the lunar dates. The brass vise is enriched by chiselled bronzes and gilded in the corners, it opens up on the upper part giving space to a cobalt night sky on which is painted a vassel

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Sideboard with a semi-circular front. Supported by four truncated pyramid shaped uprights with vase-shaped feet, it has a narrow under the top drawer in the middle part, while there are two more thin drawers on the sides, under which there are two larger service drawers, on the corners there are two decorated doors that imitate the front of the drawers. Mahogany with mahogany feather banded veneer in the front, with maple and ebony threading, a carved maple reserve decorates the uprights; the drawers and the doors are enriched with an ebony thread on the edges, as well as the border of the mahogany head of the top; the top is a single mahogany board. The handles are gilded bronze pendants with a central rosette. On the back of the top there are inserts for the fastening of the brass beams that were supposed to hold the lights and other service equipment.

Sideboard designed by Carlo Scarpa and produced by Bernini since 1977 has four doors with double cylinder side elements. High quality furniture, it is made of national walnut wood. The manufacturing brands are present.
