Description
Photographs by Maria Robledo. Edited by Alexander SC Rowed and Holton Rower. With contributions by Mark Rosenthal and Jane Adlin. The volume presents the jewels of the great American sculptor Alexander Calder, famous for his Mobiles, abstract and kinetic sculptures. In fact, during his life Calder was also an inspired jewelery designer: in this area a constant reference to primitive art is evident, also in the refusal to use precious materials: the jewels are made with brass, copper wire, silver, glass, wood, ceramic, leather. The volume presents these small masterpieces with 197 color photographs and 59 b/w photographs.
